About the Rolls-Royce Harriers
We're a friendly local running club that is run for the benefit of employees, friends and family of Rolls-Royce plc in Derby.
We have a Club Championship that takes place annually, starting with the Handicap Race in September. The championship is based on points awarded for individual performances over a wide range of events. Those included are the North Midland and Derby Runner cross-country leagues, the Broome Cup and Handicap cross-country races, 10k, 10 mile, half marathon and full marathon road races and 1500m, 3000m and 5000m on the track. You can also score points for taking part in fell races and ultra distance events. Points are based on times achieved, with extra points for veterans (men over 40, ladies over 35). Bonus points are also awarded to anyone breaking a club record. You can also gain points for marshalling at Harriers events - a good reason for turning out to support the club even if you don’t want to run.
