The Harriers is the Rolls-Royce Running Club, which has been in existence for over 100 years. We currently have around 90 members, including a mens and a ladies section, and welcome runners of all levels and ability.

We are affiliated to England Athletics, which provides running club members the benefit of reduced entry fees for races that they enter. Members may use the Moorways track free of charge at lunchtime.

​We organise our own 10km race, plus two cross-country races and participate in two winter cross-country leagues. In addition we hold a series of track races during the summer season and enter teams in various regional/national athletics and running events.

​Membership is £25 per year (from 2024) which includes your personal affiliation to England Athletics and your entry fee for the four events that Rolls-Royce Harriers organise (£6 for second claim members and non-competitors).

RR Harriers Piggs 10K Race - Wednesday 16th July 2025 

​The ever popular Piggs 10K race, which is an open event for any runners wishing to enter, is returning to Darley Park again after good reviews on the course from previous competitors. Start time is 7:00pm.

​Broome Cup - Wednesday 9th April 2025 at 6:00pm

This year the Broome Cup race is for club members only and has returned to its original home on Sinfin Moor.

2023-2024 Club Championship

David Parkin is our male Club Champion on 398 points ahead of David Pettit on 366 points. Female Club Champion is Deborah Phelps on 272 points ahead of Gillian Whiteside on 212 points. Special mention of an amazing season by Mike Lawson, first over 70 male, who finished 5th overall on 237 points. 

​RR Harriers Handicap Race - Wednesday 18th September 2024 from 6:00pm

This race, which marks the end of the current Club Championship season and the start of the new one, was run on a fine sunny evening. Andy Norman finished in first place followed by Alison Booth (2nd) and Andy Ward (3rd).

​​RR Harriers Piggs 10K Race - Wednesday 7th August 2024

Joe Rainsford (Heanor RC) was the winner in a very fast time of 33:57, ahead of Martin Kerr (Shelton Striders) in 36:29. First Lady was Susan Pinder (Heanor RC) in 51:09, ahead of Olivia Cadman (Sinfin RC) in 52:07. Winner of the Piggs Trophy as first RR Harrier was David Pettit with the Ted Page Trophy for first RR Harrier Lady going to Gemma Stacey.  Click here to see the results.
